Description
Air Astana, the national airline of the Republic of
Kazakhstan, is seeking applicants for the full time position of the Director Technical Asset Management, to be based at their maintenance headquarters in the
city of Almaty, eastern Kazakhstan.
The Director
Technical Asset Management,
reporting to the VP Engineering & Maintenance, will be responsible for the
technical management of Air Astana’s aircraft and powerplant assets. This position is part of the senior
engineering management team at Air Astana.
The Director Technical Asset Management will lead a management team
responsible for, but not limited to, MRO management, asset utilisation optimisation,
aircraft delivery and redelivery process, Lessor management, negotiation of
major technical contracts and budgetary control.
We are seeking an experienced
management professional. To fulfill this
role you must have extensive aircraft and powerplant technical experience
gained in an airline or MRO environment.
This will include comprehensive contract management experience,
specifically in regard to powerplant and aircraft MRO.
The Director Technical Asset
Management will be responsible for:

Management
of major Engineering & Maintenance contracts. Must be fully conversant with
contracts, ensuring these are managed effectively, all contract obligations are
achieved and budgetary overruns are avoided.
·
Control
of all MRO activity including powerplant and aircraft heavy maintenance.
·
The
efficient delivery and redelivery of aircraft assets.
·
All
technical leasing contracts, in conjunction with the Commercial Planning
department.
·
The
RFP process for major technical contracts ensuring accurate technical input and
timely completion.
·
Ensuring
all contract negotiations are compliant with the company procurement
procedures.
·
Ensuring
that powerplant and aircraft assets are managed to achieve optimum asset life
between MRO input to maximise cost efficiency.
·
Enhancing
team capabilities by mentoring, training and succession planning.
Requirements:
·
10
years management experience in aircraft engineering or maintenance, for an
airline or MRO.
·
Must
hold a Degree in Engineering.
·
Extensive
technical aircraft and aircraft powerplant knowledge.
·
Significant
contract management experience.
·
Experienced manager
of people.
